Just need to clarify what work my car needs doing...
1. Coolant light has been for a month and checked coolant and wasn't low. Yesterday started after a week and revved a little and water leaked from radiator and my temp gauge set
2. whining noise when turning steering wheel and no power steering now
Power steering, and high temp

No 2 might be no fluid in the system, look for leaks

No 2 is as above. Hopefully the fluid is low because of the usual leak from the loose hoses at the bottom of the reservoir bottle, rather than the rack gaiters being full of fluid.
For no 1, pull off the plug on the coolant bottle, find a short piece of wire, and link it between the two pins in the plug. Turn on the ignition, and see if the light stays off. If so, the sensor in the bottle has failed (coolant gets into the stem and rots the fine wires inside), and needs replacing.
There are two versions of this sensor available - one for coolant bottles where the sensor goes in the top, and one where the sensor fits in underneath, and I have been supplied with the wrong one on more than one occasion. Compare the length of the replacement with the old one - the wrong type is slightly different in length.
