Following this guide > http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... per_faults

I got to the point, where you have to remove the small nut that holds the linkage to the wiper motor. Got the nut out, but the linkage seems proper stuck on the motor and doesn't want to come out.

I've given up fighting with it today and just sprayed some WD40 on it. Going to leave it overnight and give it another go tomorrow...

I'm assuming it's the original motor, so probably just seized on it? I tried prying it with a flat screwdriver, but no lock.

Any special way of doing it? :?

I think it`s on a tapered spline so give it a tap on the sides and if this fails, physically pull it around a little bit (with the motor still in place) .
Tapered splines are a really good way of transmitting power and may seem like they are seized so keep on tapping and it will come free.

Or you could pop the ball joint off.

That's good as well Max.

Thanks guys, will see how it goes tomorrow.

The ball joint idea is good, but I thought I wouldn't have to touch any of the linkage parts, obviously apart from just the nut that holds it to the motor.

Anyway, I'll let you know what happens :)

Managed to finally get it out and replace it, but in the end I put a regular washer instead of the original wave washer for the nut that holds the linkage to the motor.

Can I sleep peacefully at night knowing that it won't make a huge difference or I'm an idiot and the wave washer was there for a reason?
