My cars in the ain't shop at the minute and is ready for collecting tomorrow the guy said it won't start now. Anyway I nipped in tonight to have a look at it started first time although was a little slow to turn over and was a little roughbwhen running so stopped to check something then when I tried to restart there was nothing not even a click and don't think pump charged up either.
Checked the battery and only had 12.2V so put a booster pack on it but made no difference.
Any ideas? I'm going to try and jump it as the booster pack looked a bit tired so might not have been the best.
Is there a starter rely to check or something like that?
Any help appreciated
Starter motor wont kick in already done some checks

Starting it from the diagnostic socket (see wiki) bypasses most of the starter control circuitry.
If it consistently starts from there, but not on the key, then there is a fault.

Sorted now, thanks form the help. It was the battery that was shagged and the plugs were all soaked.

I had this last week end, was just p1ssing me about, ignition lights would come on, turn the key and click everything went dead. Then nothing would come back on, ran it on booster cables for twenty mins, but none of this made any difference. Put another battery in it and boom, fired right up.appletree wrote:

Didn't strike me to be the usual flat battery situation, but clearly it was.

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...
