Hi I have recently joined and touched on my cars issues in the new users section but thought I'd see if anyone else has any advice.
My bm will only blow air out of the vents towards the driver and passenger, it doesn't blow hardly any air to the windscreen or feet vents, I've taken the centre console and various other bits out and moved the heater flap levers and can see them moving the flaps inside the air box but still nothing going where I want it to!
I dint know if it's related but the fan will only run with the air con button pressed in, if that isn't on the fan doesn't work on any speed but with it on the speed varies but the fan won't stop when it's on speed 0. Very odd.
Any help appreciated guys :)

New user's section is really just to introduce yourself and your E30. Far better to post any technical questions here, where they are far more likely to be seen by those who might be able to answer them.
Heater box is fairly simple inside. Just flaps, operated by bowden cables, that move to direct the air where you want it, and blend heated air with unheated to control the temperature. The cables are adjustable by moving the point that the outer sheath is clamped in place, but should need adjusting if they've never been disturbed.
With the aircon switch on, it's correct that the fan should not be able to be switched completely off, but I can't see how the speed control can adjust the fan speed at all, if it won't power the fan without the aircon on.
Unplug the fan rotary switch and connect a 12 volt bulb (NOT a meter) between the green/brown in its plug and a good body earth with the ignition on and aircon off, and confirm that it lights.
If it does, use a short piece of wire to link together the green/brown and blue wires of the plug and see if the fan runs.

This is the test you described I think Brian.
And I also check power with ign on to the green wire on the speed control and I have 12 v with it on and nothing with ignition off. Let me know if the video works! And opinions please guys.

And also a bit of a query about that seal. Is it still available and would that effect the air flow not going to the foot vents too? Thanks
