Right, I got a 13.5mm Rear ARB from a touring and some new Lemforder drop links, so here we go...

Wiki says its a doddle: but 5 hours later and the only way I can see to "feed the ARB in and through the existing suspension" is to disconnect the driveshafts, lower the diff and place it between the diff brackets on the top of the diff mount.

Is that right?

Thanks, :?

I'm pretty sure that when I refurbished mine, I took the rear spring and shock out of one side and that gave me space to wiggle it in. Its another option, and I remember trying to follow that wiki page and got very frustrated that I couldn't work out how to remove it.

Sorry if the wiki's confusing guys. The write up was done when I refurbed my back end, and the ARB was the last to go in. But if it's that awkward I'll recommend people pop a spring out.

It may be worth just adding the option of popping a spring out, for all of us dummies out here, I just could not find a way to feed it back in!

I did mine by putting a jack on the spring platform base undid the shock and lowered the jack to gain access. 100nm for the shock bottom bolt btw.

Yeah I was cursing a bit too, no fun on your back driveway style!

Even easier with both springs out! Unbolt the damper from the arm and lower slowly with a jack to remove the spring. Do it both sides and you'll have a lot more room to wiggle it in.

Thanks chaps - I got it in in the end by removing the spring from the drivers side.

Thing is, mine now travels through the gap between the diff bush and in between the two sides of the diff bracket, (this was not easy for a novice on the driveway with axel stands).

Does yours do the same? Are they different shapes depending on the donor car? Mine looks the same as the pic on the WIKI for the list of kit but different from one of the last pics with the drop links on.

But its in, and it has totally transformed the drive of the car. Definately the best upgade I've done by far. Thoroughly recommend it as must have option... :D
