well i have a 1990 318i LUX i bought the car on lowering springs dunno what type though. it came on 17" alpines with nice arch gap.. i sold the 17" and bought 15" wheels because I like the way it dives on them, it sat okey at the rear but the front looked slandered hight.. so i bought 52mm struts off a guy I know cheap and just wondering what's best too bring the lighter engine down a little more?? and not serious money lol..

thanks on the info guys :)

Looks?? Or handling upgrade?? Budget?? The worlds your oyster, but steer clear of jom/hottuning/pro sport or any cheap coilovers from ebay as they are shyte & cheap for a reason.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

60mm is the absolute limit, anymore and see ya later sump and the rear tyres will wear very fast on the inside tread area.

Can you not swap the lowering springs from the original struts to the 52mm ones?
You will need spring compressers or take to a garage...

Don't undo the center nut with out any sort of spring compresser to take the tension!

Avoid cheap coil overs as quality is poor.......

If they will swap over that has got to be the cheapest ...
