I've always found London a bit of a desert when it comes to tyres and tracking. Why do tyre places look at you like you're mad when you say that you want a specific brand/model of tyre?
No shortage of people who will go through the motions of adjusting tracking - usually leaving different number of turns to each lockstop.
Can anyone recommend a proper shop who know what they're doing? I'm in N1 and don't mind going a bit of distance. Ideally within an hour's drive.
Thanks

Why wouldnt you just go into a Kwik Fit if you're struggling so much? I know they've not got the best reputation, but you're not asking them for an engine rebuild.
And hope you get someone that gives a shit.Mitchen wrote:Why wouldnt you just go into a Kwik Fit if you're struggling so much? I know they've not got the best reputation, but you're not asking them for an engine rebuild.
I believe kwik fit use proper 4 wheel aligners so you can't really go wrong as they're just doing it to what the computer tells them.

NO - but I am asking for my tracking to be professionally done so that my M3 handles as it should when driven to its limits.Mitchen wrote:Why wouldnt you just go into a Kwik Fit if you're struggling so much? Why would I go to a supplier that as you acknowledge doesn't have a very good reputation?
I'm in N1 also and use Madhouse Tyres off old Kent Road (there's a tyre shop that looks dodgy but the tracking shop is better and further south...the guys there are pretty solid and helpful.

Off the top of my head it might be off Devon St - I was there a month or so ago. Odd that it's gone.

The guy at wheel power has been there years and his alignmentFEP wrote:Thanks for the suggestions.
I have now identified Blackboots - Wheels in Motion in Chesham and like the look of Wheel Power in Brockley.
Anything else somewhere between the two?
Equipment is top notch.

Try asking a body shop for a recommendation.
on some accident repair jobs where suspension etc has been changed a wheel alignment would be required.
They are more likely to reject a car if it don't drive right after an alignment.
Just a thought.....

Bexley Motor Works / BmSport have a 4 wheel alignment machine and located in LION ROAD, Bexleyheath.
They are use to setting up M3s both for Road and Track and also do corner weighting if have adjustable.

Dave

I've used wheelpower - they've got the Hunter alignment gear and are much more reasonable than other places I've been to.whiterhino wrote:Try wheel power in brockley. Very useful guys down there.
