It's a bit of a job to get it out!
It's a two piece carpet, the front piece covering the bulk of it.
The black door steps have to be removed (plastic clips)
Then the speaker grills (Philips head screw)
Both front seats (17mm bolts)
Center console rear part first then front section (10mm bolts)
Seat belt mounts to the floor (19mm)
And patience to work it back from the firewall as wires and brake linkage
Live around there.....
I'm sure I've missed something else out, but that's the basis......

Clipped under the plastic on a rail.... I pry then up with a long screwdriver down one side, they may be a better way of doing this as it can break if forced too much......

Remove rear seat bolster, prise up rear of carpet retaining plastic (carefully!) grip and slide to the rear to remove.
Refit using liquid soap on guides.

Most people - including me- resort to cutting out the bit under the heater box as getting it to slide into place correctly and up the firewall is virtually impossible unless of course you have taken the heater box out.

There IS a much better way - one that doesn't break things!slideout318i20 wrote:Clipped under the plastic on a rail.... I pry then up with a long screwdriver down one side, they may be a better way of doing this as it can break if forced too much......
Slide the trim forwards (may need a block of wood on the end and a light hammer) until the rear clip is exposed. Slide the trim backwards again, but make sure the channel misses the rear clip. Keep sliding it back until it is clear of all the clips.
The individual clips should all be removed from the sill and slid backi into the channel in the trim before the trim is refitted.
