Hi, help please. Tappets are fairly noisy. Is this normal? Or sign of more problems. Car is 325i sport. I've read this can be particular to this engine? Car has had oil change and filter and cambelt in May. Along with water pump. Oil looks clean upon checking.
Is this a big job to sort? Or expensive job? Car has one more months tax before it goes into the garage over the winter. I was going to get work done over the winter. But this will now take priority. Any useful advice welcome.

I have had the car 24 months very little driving as I have worked on the body during this period. How often do you recommend? I haven't adjusted them yet but this has been first summer used very little running.

If they are noisy, they need at least checking.....I am not sure what the service interval is for them, but most people will check them when doing a service, or when they get noisy...

I have roughly covered 600 miles since putting it back on the road. Is this a big job? Do you have an idea of costs?

Yeah but if it hasn't been done for the past 10 years then it doesn't matter how many miles you've done since you acquired the car.
No it's not a big issue, usually done as part of a service, so I expect an hours labour for a garage.
Or you can do it yourself...
