Since I've had my e30 the temp gauge has been erratic, reading randomly between half and three quarters and occasionally flickering. I've just fitted another cluster and everything is working fine although the odometer is now 47k higher.
Is there any easy fix for my existing cluster or is it possible to swap either the temp gauge over or swap my speedometer into another cluster?

You have already swapped a cluster,so you are half-way there!
There's self tapping screws on the back, check carefully that you have removed them all, then the case comes to bits. The instruments are held on pins and slide out after any retaining screws have been removed. If any part is being 'playful',check again for fasteners, the parts should slide apart with nothing more than a gentle tug.
I usually wait until 'er indoors has gone shopping,so that I can 'borrow' the dining room table for this kind of 'clean' job!
