Bit of advice needed please

Got in the car this morning and the windscreen water jets decided they prefer being on permanently, no matter how much I jiggled the stalk they stayed on, managed to get them to turn off for maybe ten minutes while getting petrol then straight back on on the way home and squirted until i turned the car off.

Is there anything I can clean or fiddle with to fix or do I just need another wiper stalk??

Any help appreiciated

Check that there's nothing metallic slipped under the wiper control module in the fusebox.
The washers are 'earth to operate' so any short circuit of the relevant wire to earth will make the pump run.

Ok will have a look at that, I just popped the bonnet and jiggled the wires around the washer reservoir and it seems to have stopped but will go and check the fusebox as well

Cheers Brian

Just been out and there was a fuse wedged under what I think is the wiper module, it's the long rectangle one in my pic at the top?

Doubt the contacts went far enough under there though? i pulled the fuse out and made sure the box was seated properly its not doing it at the moment
