Hi. Been looking for a tidy pre 88 325 to eventually convert to an M3 look alike stage rally car. But the early pre facelift cars seem to be quite rare now. Is it possible to retro fit the earlier back lights into a later facelift shell? Is it just replacement of the rear panel and I assume bootlid different too?

Cheers mate, the first page alone convinced me I need to search harder and start with a pre-facelift car!!!
I am not wanting a 100% Concorse accurate M3 replica, it will be a rally car and enjoyed to the max, just want it to look M3 at a glance as if I put the effort in it may be easier to attract some small sponsors. There is a company in Holland which appears to do half decent fibreglass M3 panels including the infamous rear window conversion , so that will be way good enough for me. Just need to find a decent base car!
