Hi, I am completely new to e30s and would be grateful if someone could confirm what is correct air filter for 320i cab auto? Photo shows my current filter, the standard replacement from Halfords does not seem anything like it! Car drives ok, no issues. Is this a performance filter, would K & N be a good replacement or is it better to stick to standard? Thanks.

That is some aftermarket tat. You will need to buy a standard air box but they are plentiful and not expensive secondhand. Buy a standard filter from GSF or ECP

You will need the complete air filter box, with mounts, the intake trumpet that fits inside the top of the box, and the intake pipe from the panel behind the headlamp to the filter box to replace that abomination.
