Need More Power!!!

Hi all,
If youve seen my post in the photo gallery then you may know that Im in the middle of fitting a bodykit and it will not be long till I respray it and get some new rims.

Once the bodywork is finnished Im going to need another excuse to spend endles hours in the garage with out the wife nipping my head

So I was planning on doing some engine mods!
The car is a 1987 320i manual e30 which is not bad but just hasnt got the burst I would like to achieve,

What would you guys recomend to get some more power out of my car, wether it be bolt on mods or a full conversion?
If an engine conversion, then can anyone give me a little info on what i all takes to do the job,

The cheapest most effective mod you could do is stick a 2.5 lump in it. It's probably been said a million times before but it's true. You can get an engine from anything between Ԛ£100 - Ԛ£300 it's a direct replacement and will give you an instant 40bhp odd kick!

You could spent Ԛ£300 on bolt on mods and gain little more than 5 or 10 bhp

If i was to fit a 2.5 engine, what would I all need to change?

The whole engine / gearbox / electrics etc?

Is there any problems that I may encounter?

..or you could swap you block for a 2.7

does the 1987 320i run l-jet or motronic?
