Got a bit of an odd one, having problems with the dust shields on the centre bearing spinning on the propshaft.
Have a brand new bearing on an e36 shaft and dust shields that went with the bearing, now the little buggers are spinning on the shaft and sound like a dead bearing.
Did a 20 mile run today and they span enough to warm the shaft up. Sounded like the bearing was going to come through the floor.
Anyone come across this before?
Any way I can stake the buggers to stop them spinning? Even if just temporarily until I can get some new ones on there?

Just found what the problem is, the outer one is pressed against the rubber face of the centre bearing housing (the smaller closed end) this is giving enough friction to spin it on the shaft.
It seems like it is too short for the centre bearing.
I have bent it back/up against the prop for now but I guess I need a new one anyway?
