Hello guys,
I got BMW's Sport Seats on my Touring and was going to install genuine Mtech pins to the seats' backs, but faced a challenge of how to actually do it.
The pins' legs are aluminium and when I try to pierce the cloth of seats' backs, the pins just bend. Am I missing something here? Should I first pierce the cloth and then stick in the pins? Will the pins sit OK there without needing anything to make them sit properly?

Remove the seat backs , so when they go through you bend them in towards eachother
Id leave them off if I were you

Thanks mate. Though, what do you mean by leaving them off?
Are you saying that you would have preferred to not install these pins?
Why?

What seats do you have ? Comfort ? Sport ? Cloth/leather ?
General consensus is that they are a bit eBay/tat and look better without and not an oem item
I removed some that were installed by a previous owner, but each to their own

All depends on the seat pattern, mine (houndstooth) luckily showed no obvious signs even on a close inspection, but saying that the upper rear bench and drivers back section have since been replaced anywayCloggy Saint wrote:If you plan on keeping them in forever then fine. If you remove them at any stage you'll be left with 2 small but obvious holes in each seat back.
If it's nice leather then I'd defiantly not put them in

The pins are BMW's genuine M tech pins.
Am planning to keep my car for (ever) and thought I shall give it a go. I think they would look nice. Where exactly should I position them? Right where the little bend in the seat back is?
