Hi all. Both my rear motors in my saloon are shot, and are of the cable type. About to buy a working pair, but theyre of the scissor type from a tourer rear door. Are they swappable or no use to me? Not sure if the whole mechanism would swap over either so could do with a little help please!

The mechanism is matched to the glass, so if you want a scissor mechanism then you need to fit the matching glass for it - and you can't use the tourING one in your saloon, for obvious reasons.
Other than that, yes, mechs are usually swappable.

Ahh ok. Not bothered about the mechanism, i just want the motors really, but thought id ask just in case.
Sorry for being a bit dense, but does that last bit mean the scissor motors will work on my cable mechanisms?
Thanks!

If you have get fit windows (hand operated) now the no you can't just put motors on there you need the whole assembly.JimJimFTWwin wrote: Sorry for being a bit dense, but does that last bit mean the scissor motors will work on my cable mechanisms?

Salon and touring Mechanisms are different if i remember correctly.

Are you sure that you've not been offered cab. rear windows? Saloon/touring rear electric windows are all 'cable' type.
