Hi
I'm looking to lower my touring on a fairly tight budget, it's a '92 316i so I believe it has the 51mm struts, I'm looking to go pretty low but it is a daily driver so nothing too ridiculous, ideally I would like an adjustable kit so I can get it just right but I am not willing to do any cutting or welding so proper coilovers are out of the question, I have seen adjustable kits by JOM for around £200 which people seem to really rate on other cars but apparently the kit they do for the E30 is not great, does anyone have any experience of these? I am willing to spend a bit more than that but £400 is probably my upper limit. Can anyone recommend any better kits for that sort of money? Or would I be better off going down the non adjustable route? Or if anyone has a second hand kit to sell that would be even better. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Far, far better going down the non adjustable route!
Go more than 40mm from standard, and not only will you be replacing your lower sump fairly often, but the handling, tyre wear and ride will suffer badly, as you are altering the suspension from the angles at which it was designed to work.
H&R or Eibach -35mm springs are the way to go, coupled with Bilstein B4 or Boge turbo dampers for road use, plus an overhaul of the suspension bushes.
