Hi all im in urgent technical help ive just lowered my e30 using the following cheapy coilovers of someone second hand

and had purchased top mounts from ebay aswell, as the car didnt go low enough for my liking i decided to cut the spring at the front temporarily and removed the adjusters, baring in mind i did note one shock was completely shot as it kept going in. ive now gone ahead and installed the entire set up and it rides spot on but when i push the car up and down on the side of the shot damper i can hear a really loud clunck and ever so slighly on the driver side. now im wondering should i just replace the shocks with new ones as may be their both shot or could it be the top spring holder plate and top mount which i highly doubt???

It just needs running in.

Take it out and do a load of doughnuts to get it settled properly.

Cheapo coilovers with knackered shocks that THEN have the springs cut and the adjusters removed... And this is the mechanism that keeps your car's wheels in contact with the road. The mind truly boggles at some people's ideas :mad:

Without being there in person, it is almost impossible to diagnose where in this weapons-grade clusterfuck of a suspension system the noise could be coming from.
