Hi new to the site and new to the e30 market my first one.

car 1988 bmw E30 320i 4 door saloon

Im looking to change the rear drums to disks in the near future. ill buy parts needed and fit later so wanted to confirm a few things so if i see a good bargain online ill know what to grab.

My understanding from my research online is that all i will need to change is the rear trailing arms with disk hubs, calipers and brake hoses is this correct ?

If so then as my car is a 4 door saloon will it matter if the trailing arms are from a 2 door or does it have to be 4 door and same manufactured year needed or not?

will i need anything else or is it a straight swap job for the full conversion ?

If so a list of parts would be great and much appreciated thanks.

You will also need the handbrake cables.
The trailing arms for discs come in two versions - those with provision for ABS and those without, but either will suit your application.
A set up from a two door saloon, a cab., or a touring will all be fine, although the brake calipers on a touring use a slightly bigger piston than the others. The difference is small, and it won't matter which you use, as long as it is a matching pair.

It can be a bit daunting getting used to these cars. Fortunately the Zone Wiki covers most of these things:
