Hi Guys,

I bought some wipers from BMW and the plastic part that the arm should slot into is just too big to fit into the slot for the wiper arm.

I've double checked and the part number seems correct - anyone have any ideas? Every time I've gotten these previously they've just slotted right in.

Thanks!

Is there any corrosion or flaky paint on the ends of your wiper arms? Failing that have you still got the old plastic fitments at all?

Nope (and I have some brand new wiper arms with the same problem)

I do but the dowel size is too new on the new ones to slot in.

May need to bring out the hammer for "customisation"

Cheers,

hopefully this helps explain my conundrum:

old (top) and new (bottom) - see how the pin diameter is much larger?

If they're not fir for purpose then I'd consider taking them back and asking for a full refund, then go to somewhere like GSF or Eurocarparts and buy a set that does fit. Have you spoken to BMW where you bought them and advised of the obvious incompatibility?
