Hola, I have a first generation (i think) piranha alarm system fitted to my e30. It has been turned off since I own the car but now I started playing with it.
After I fixed the antenna in the remote to operate the alarm I realized that arming the alarm does not lock the doors but disarming the alarm does unlock the doors. I'm guessing it should have lock/unlock working properly.. Using the key I have no problem.
I read in the wiki that cutting the red/black wires behind the driver's speaker and connecting them together would cure some central locking issues. Would this apply to my situation? I looked at tutorials on youtube on different cars but can't be too sure!
As the unlock function works my guess is that the alarm was wired properly and I would buy a decent alarm in the future but will still have to fix the locking issue.
Thanks for any advice,
JF

Red/black wire modification won't fix your problem, but it's beneficial to do it anyway, not just for the locking, but for the windows and mirrors as well.
Chances are that it's a relay in the Piranha alarm that's at fault.

That guy fixed that same problem, I wonder if something similar could be done on the e30. Assuming the alarm works properly..
