Exhaust manifold coatings

I will be taking the exhast manifold off at the weekend as the previous owner put it back on last time without all of the gaskets and without fitting the last two stud bolts. I cannot afford ceramic coating at the moment. Has anyone had any luck with that heat proof paint for the manifold? I have heard all sorts of reports, form good to bad.

I cant see how any sort of paint would help, use heat wrap
