I have a couple of threaded bolt holes in the head. Its the top set for the cam cover, (i know its a common problem - aluminium head steel bolts). it's not causing me any issues but as its laid up it's an ideal time it fix it.
I was thinking of ordering a helicoil set to repair the threads, has anyone done this? if so is it the M6x1 kit i should be buying?
Or, are there any other ways of repairing the damage?

I've got a few helicoils in my M42 head. From memory I think M6 x1 is correct. Pretty straight forward , just make sure you don't drop swarf into the valve train. I masked it all off beforehand and made sure all the bits were brushed/blown away before removing the cover afterwards.
