Which Cree LED has a high enough light output? Do you want to replace the Halogen main headlamp bulb or the parking light bulb? Post a link to the Cree LED you mean.
All you need to fix anything is grim determination – that and belief.

LED's suitable for car headlights cost over £150 and they are about 25w in power if you thinking about eBay stuff I think you will find that they are not suitable for the road use simply because they are just like candle light compared to halogen bulbs where HID's are even brighter than halogens. If you don't trust me then try It for your self :wink:

LED technology advances noticeably by the month, ( I fit lots of the things as part of my work), but it's still a long way from a single bulb to replace a conventional headlamp bulb. AFAIK, all the OE LED headlamps in use at the moment use multiple lamps.

10W LED just isn't enough with current technology, and they all use multiple light sources which will play havoc with the beam pattern.
Give it another five years.

Its why they describe them as "daytime lights/fog lights"
The output is not good enough to light the road ahead

I have a 20w single LED security light in my back garden and while its very bright (as much as a 100w standard floodlight) it doesnt project the light half as far, ok close up but dims over about 20ft

LED headlamps to match the performance of HIDs are about 250-500 quid!

I've HIDs in mine in all fogs, low and high beams and find them brilliant. Even the low beam units alone are well worth it.

They're getting strict here now though with only allowing cars with OEM HIDs and must have leveling, headlight washer jets and projector lights.
Reckon I'll try get away with hiding my ballasts well and fitting washer jets and maybe electric level adjusters

For my Defender, I'm using these;

Same stuff that they use in the US military in the Humvees.
