Water Problem

I've got an outrageous smell of something bad inside the car, from the misting up of the glass I presume it's water and as the car has been parked out in all the rain I've got a horrible feeling the footwells are soaked and stinking. I thought at first it was coming from the channel by the wiper motor which was a problem a while back. I fixed this and sealed it off and I checked it today, it's bone dry and sealed perfectly. The car has a factory fitted sunroof so maybe this is an issue, it's also nearly 30 years old so where else is likely to be a cause.
