I need to remove the steering wheel from my 318is - it is the type with the horn buttons on the spokes (Mtech 1?) Does anyone now how I gain access to the retaining nut? I guess something pops off but is it just the centre or what?
Cheers
Robin

take a little flat screwdriver and prise out the BMW logo.
optional to put on the steering lock, never done it myself I just hold the wheel when you loosen the nut.
undo the nut half way,
pull till loose,
take off steering lock
undo the nut all the way
pull off (the steering wheel!)
look for the washer you have dropped on the floor.
dont forget to mark a piece of tape on yer wheel and have it at the top, dont turn the splines when the wheel us off, replace steering wheel with tape in same position so wheel will still be straight.
easy peesy

Optional to put steering lock on to undo nut, but essential to have lock released to pull off the wheel.
Nut is 22mm.
