Hi all I have just bought a j reg 325 cabriolet as a project to bring back to former glory, the power roof has a couple of issues and was hoping you all may shed some light for me,
Firstly the linkage that moves the hood itself has sheared off the guy I bought it from gave me a repair plate with the car but can somebody show me how it's fitted? Has anyone got the instructions that come with these plates?? Also when I tried to lower the roof manually the hood hits the rear seat and won't go into the hood compartment? Is this a problem with the hood or is the something out of adjustment?. Cheers Dave

If it's the bar with the "swivel" on one end then it will need replaced. I have just purchased the bar and swivel from my local bmw shop. I would look into why it has sheared, there may be some underlying faults. Sorry can't comment on the plate as I've checked mine and the plate mod isn't needed as the motor is complete and undamaged.
