I'll be replacing the leaking sump gasket on my 325i soon and also going to replace some bits around the oil filter housing area, like the o-rings and gaskets.
Obviously new oil and filter, but is there anything else I should do while I'm there?
Engine mounts? Anything else?
Thanks.

If you do the engine mounts I would have thought it would be worth changing the gear box mounts too whilst your down there..
Control arms if they need it and with that then other bushes such as drop links.? If you need new drop links I used mondeo rear drop links, much better build quality..
They're listed in the "bushes' section of wiki..

The gearbox mounts are new, as I changed them in June 2013, when we did the clutch, linkage and all that...
Suspension-wise, I'm not touching anything yet, as that's another story...Shocks, springs, fca's, bushes, etc - everything will be replaced, but a bit later on.
So I'm guessing apart from engine mounts, there's nothing else there really?

If you're going to order the bits, then get the D-seals for the rocker cover too. That'll fix another regular M20 oil leak.

Hopefully after putting the new sump gasket in, there won't be any oil leaks left...

Guys, I'm assuming Febi engine mounts are good quality? I checked OEM ones and they are £44 each, so a bit pricy, considering Febis are about £11 each?
Don't want to go for any Q-drive crap that ECP sells and I doubt GSF will have anything better?
So Febi it is?
And by the way, as above, I'm not missing anything?

Bump for another question
Sump bolts with washers? I've read somewhere that you have to replace them once they're taken off.....Or is it fine to re-use them?

Never heard anything about not reusing sump bolts and washers, and can think of no reason why you shouldn't.
Add #12 to the engine mounts, if not already fitted: http://2009.bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/ ... on_damper/

Thanks, will re-use the bolts then, no probs
Got Febi engine mounts already, but not sure if I have those "stoppers" as Brian mentioned.
Checked with BMW, £14 each.
Are they a must-have or they provide some additional support?
