Fuel return pipe

Been advised to clamp off fuel return pipe to the tank to see if we have a fuel pressure regulator problem on the lads 318i, stupid question but which one is return pipe ( guessing its one of the two pipes held on with bracket at backside on inlet manifold, if its these is it top or bottom??

Fuel filter is at the back of the engine bay, and is fitted in the feed, so the return pipe is the other one.
Alternatively, the feed is the one that goes directly to the injector fuel rail, and the return is the one that comes from the pressure regulator.
