My local told me there was something missing on the m10 carb to do with acceleration idle control, he wasn't sure what is was called but it was causing the cutting out when the foot came off of the accelerator.. he described it as a plunger that cushions the difference between gas and no gas.
any ideas?
Something missing from carb, what is it?

Accelerator pump? But they're used the other way round. You also have progression holes to smooth out closed throttle to open.
Not sure if the pierburgs have accelerator pumps though.
Could be on about an idle air control valve. On fuel injected cars, the idle air control valve tends to open momentarily as the revs near idle from the throttle closing.

He thinks that the difference from revs to no revs is too much and causes the car to cut out, and the part that drops the revs dropping so heavily is missing or something?
