I've had a leak on the washer jets for a while now and found out today it's from a valve feeding the drivers side headlight washer.
If done a temp repair but while testing I've found that after i release the wiper controls from spraying the motor runs on for a good 15 seconds which I've never noticed before this is even after just a very quick pull.
So any advice on this would be appreciated. Due to other issues I think I will end up replacing all the pipes and valves so the last question is does anyone have a diagram of where all the pipes should go including direction of valves etc.

?? There is no stalk directly controlling the headlamp washers.
If you bypass a valve in the headlight washer system, water will syphon from the bottle.

That's basically what the leak was the pipe had come off the valve and that also seems to be u/s.
When I say about the stalk I meant when I activated the washers for the screen the motor supplying them then continues to run after I release. To be honest I'm not 100% sure what is the correct way for the system to run as its my first e30 with headlight washers fitted

There's nothing on the car that can make the normal screen washer pump run on after the stalk is released, other than a sticking stalk itself, or just possibly, something metallic sliding under the wiper control module in the fusebox.
Are you sure you didn't push in the end of the stalk and activate the intensive wash/wipe?
The headlamp wash/wipe should be activated every fifth time the normal washers are used when the lights are on, but five times in short succession doesn't work.
Once the two headlamp wiper motors have received a start pulse, there operation is entirely autonomous. They complete there pre programmed sequence, including operating the washer pump, with no further input.
