Heated mirrors.... L & R the same???

Next up from me... I'm sure I've read online that you can have heated mirrors on an E30???

If so, is it just a case of looking out on here/ebay for the correct mirrors, or is there a simple mod/different glass that can be fitted???

Also, wondering the same thing about heated washer jets - although I doubt i'd bother fitting those!!!

Two wires, a live and an earth tapped into the original elec mirror wiring, spade terminal on the end of each wire and then its just a case of plugging them onto a heated mirror glass

A couple of silly questions then - does the mirror glass just clip in??? Will the old one just un-clip/pull out with a little force/leverage???

And any idea which two wires to use???

Youtube will show you how to remove the glass I expect, get a test light if you cant find a wiring diagram, easy job!

Wires required are the black and the brown.

I'm assuming it doesn't matter which way round I connect the black & brown wires???
Brown +ve???

I assume there won't be a voltage to either unless it's cold enough to activate the heated mirrors???

Either way round, they are on with ignition

Black = 12 volts +, brown = 0 volts (earth), but doesn't matter which way around they are connected to the mirror element.
No control whatsoever - the mirrors are heated all the time the ignition is on (first position, onwards).

Just a shame the mirrors I bought off egay are not the correct fitment - even though the auction promised a 'proper replacement with fitted clip just like original'!!!

I'll name & shame if the seller doesn't sort it!!!

Euro's have the left heated glass for £10.56, but the right hand glass is cheaper and not heated!!!!

Are the left and right mirror glass' not the same??? Is there a left & right???

Very tempted to order two heated left's and see if one fit's the drivers mirror - somebody stop me before I make another errored purchase!!!

As usual, euro's have them available with free delivery, but not in either of my local branches, so I can't even go and have a look!!!

where i work it in our mirror supplier book it says L+R are same part no but only lists a standard mirror so not sure if the heated would be diff.

That's good enough for me - why else would they only stock a left heated and only a right non-heated???

I would order them now..... but euro's website is now down!!!

Wonder if I'll get the right part this time - they normally manage to send me the wrong parts!!!

well that means they are the exact same shape my supplier only lists the stick over glass so im wondering if the backing plate are diff for l/r though

Ok, so just to confirm for anyone else thinking of bothering with this - Euro's definately DO NOT sell heated mirror glass for E30's!!!!!!!!!!!
You can see it on the website, you can order it (at a slightly higher price than non-heated), but you will only ever get non-heated glass!!!

Another order ECP have messed up on, another morning I had taken time out to fit them, wasted!!!

Where are you Pacer???? Prices please on your oem parts???????????

I really want to know, how the bad effect if the heater on all the time? does the mirror will be fade? or ... I live in tropical hot weather but I need it when rain.
