Hi, I recently bought a remote central locking kit on eBay, it comes with two replica E46 key fobs, a central locking module and an alarm system (I'm not planning on fitting this yet).
Something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Remote-Centra ... 23190640e0
Thinking that this would be a fairly simple job I attacked it today, however after cutting and crimping every wire in the rear loom it still does nothing.
Does anyone have any experience with these kits?
Or know how to post pictures?
(The car I'm trying to fit it to is a 1993 E30 touring, it has factory central locking)

First of all, what are you doing with 'the rear loom'? You should be working behind the glovebox, where BMW have kindly made available every wire you need to connect to.
I have no experience of this particular kit, but they are largely all the same, even down to the colours of the wires.
How to post pics is detailed in a sticky on the 'for sale' forums.
Need to see the wiring diagram for the thing before I can help further.

Was the central locking working before you started to fit this?

All of the previous installations that I have looked at put the module in the jack compartment?

These are the threads which advocate placing everything in the boot:

As you can probably guess this is my first E30.

Update: Central locking no longer works, I think I may have blown a fuse.

As a general E30 rule, I wouldn't take too much notice of US forums!
If you're working from the top middle diagram, then that's your problem. You should be using the top right.
Your unit has the 'standard' wire colours, and there are several threads in the forum archives detailing the installation of similar systems.

Yes I've just found the previous threads.
They all seem to have a positive and negative going in, whereas mine has two grounds, surely it needs to run off something?

The diagram you've shown is only the central locking connections for the device. There is also a red wire for 12 volts power and a black wire for the earth return, plus a wire or wires for flashing the indicators.
P.S. Use the E30 wiring diagrams here: http://www.autolib.diakom.ru/CAR/BMW/ The Haynes ones are close to useless.
