Hi all,
As soon as I put my headlights the check plate shows a fault with the licence plate light. I had this problem for years and I tried every option but could not sort the problem.

Basically I had a light conversion done from small lights to large lights and after 6 months I had this problem starting.

I changed the check panel- no luck.
I changed both of the licence lights with OEM parts-no luck.
I changed the connection box behind the rear seat-no luck.
I changed the headlight pull switch-no luck.

Can anyone tell me what the problem can be please.

Looking at the circuit diagram for the licence plate lights, there seems to be a relay in series after the check control . Maybe there is corrosion at this relay?

Have you tested to see if there is a negative ground connection at the lights with continuity checker?

No I haven't checked the negative ground. I have to pop in to my mates garage to get this checked.

Also where is this relay located. I never seen one and I would apericiate if you can tell me the area that is located.

Apologies for the delay with a reply. Did you manage to test the continuity at all? I have tried unsuccessfully to locate the relay above, I am currently attempting to localise it via one of the zone moderators. Fuse 23 looks like it controls that circuit too, but it also serves the instrument lighting and other rear and parking lights, and as you haven't mentioned that any of these were also faulty I eliminated it from the equation.
