Does anyone know if an early e36 (non airbagged) steering wheel will fit an e30? They are different partnos, but i heard a rumour it would fit. Has anyone tried this? does anyone know what the difference was? I believe they are the same diameter

The mouting hubs are totally different, it's a no go I'm afraid.

E34 wheel will fit though..

does an e34 wheel sit further out or in? I know the mtech one is the larger size (385mm) , but how does it sit in relation to the column stalks compared to the e30 mtech for example?

The E34 wheel hub is identical to the E30, it's just the diameter that is different.
