I've just dismantled my front strut (45mm 4pot), it doesn't have a bump stop fitted! This can't be right surely? Also has what seems like 6 pot springs :roll:

Most likely the bump stop has disintegrated over time or was never replaced in the past.

That would leave the plastic sleeve there still so I suspect some corner cutting.
Luckily had some lying around but couldn't check oem at my garage, fitted them anyway.

I put coiloverzzz on a 1995 323i yesterday and all four bumpstops were missing! Along with quite a lot of the sills.
