Hey, a small problem i have notice with my new E30 316i is that when still, in neutral the rev meter fluctuates and it feels like the call is going to stall, then it shoots back up again.

I think it may be spark plugs or the coil pack but i wanted a second opinion.

Anybody ever have the same problem? If so, is there an easy fix?

You cleaned out the ICV/TB recently?

More likely a split in the rubber boot after the air flow meter.
325i Tech 1 Touring, breaking.

2.5 high comp. M20, 3.64 LSD, Fully undersealed, Spax springs & Bilstein shocks, s/s exhaust, Alpina rep wheels and more.

Its worth doing, won't do any harm, or as March says, could be a split in the rubber boot, I have one if you get stuck.

What was the outcome to this dude??

My 320i does something very similar and I noticed there is a crack in my TB boot. I do need to get round to changing it.

Unfortunately due to possible lack of work next year I have banned myself from doing anything to the car. Got some welding and bodywork that I wanted to get done asap as well!!

No outcome yet. My TB boot doesnt have a crack in it but it may be a problem with the air flow meter
