I've got a new set of window rubbers for the touring and wondered if anyone had any tips on how to safely remove the metal trim strips? I know they're held on with "W" clips and I also know they bend very easily. I had a trial run with a breaker I've got, slowly prying it upwards with a screwdriver but managed to destroy it and damage the paint on the top of the door. Anyone got some advice?

Just replaced mine on the cab, only way I know is to pry them up but very slowly and a little at a time.

don't use a screwdriver Ed!
use a long thin edge (like a ruler) and tap that against the trim, very gently and carefully

I use wooden pegs (take the spring out!!) the thin ends are hard enough to ease trim & are pretty good shape to run along without scratching the paintwork they can take a bit of gentle tapping too.
