Is it me or do the lights on an e30 only light up about 10m of road??? WTF is going on? I want more light!! I adjusted the drivers so far up.. I can drive up the street and the end of the lights is about 1.5m up the wall.. the pax side is about 1m below that.. Can someone help?? Or will I have to get the lights replaced/aimed?

Open bonnet, grab rear of light with hand......and push it down hard!!

mate.. did that! only prob was, i ended up busting the ball clip retainer thingy in the light.. and had a nice self levelling light for a whiule.. bump.. up and down it went. made me motionsick!

Sounds like you need to remove both your headlamp assemblies and sort out all the adjusters. All individual bits you are likely to need are available cheaply from the dealer.
Make sure all the adjusters work, treat them to a bit of copper grease, put it all back together and set them up.
