So my car overheated a while back whilst idling in the garage- the engine bay got very hot.
Since then, the clutch doesn't want to engage to select gears and when it does, it's very snappy.
I assume the clutch is hydraulic on these? If so, have i just boiled the fluid? I'm going to be replacing the fluid etc anyway..
If not, what else could it be?
Clutch won't select gear after getting car VERY hot

It's a possibility you may have overheated the clutch fluid.
Try bleeding the system, and refilling with fresh fluid.
It could otherwise be indicative of a failing clutch/clutch release bearing/slave or master cylinder.

I had that exact same problem....when engine got a bit hot I could not use the clutch...had to start in neutral and crash change so I could get home.....works fine when cooled down.
I replaced both the clutch master and slave cylinder, bled the new fluid nicely and works fine now.....I had intended replacing these old clutch cylinders in any case so did not bother with first trying to replace the fluid only.
