Fitting Short shifter

Hi i was just wondering if anyone could advise of the propper things i would need to change when fitting my short shifter, i want the box to fell nice and tight again as over the years has become quite clack, could anyone advise here on what will cure that, also pics would be a great help, thanks everyone
