i need some advice in stripping the engine bay, its just the bits on the fuse box side- fuse box and abs pump and metal pipes/lines etc, i left it all on hoping the painter would sort it but i need to get it pulled out myself he didnt want to touch it

whats the best way to go about it ? can it all just be sort of pulled out and aside in towards the middle and wrapped up, or does it all have to be fully removed ? and if so any dos and donts ?

any help appriciated

You can't remove the fuse box without pulling out the entire loom from the car.

As for the brake pipes, you just undo them from the calipers and master cylinder, and unclip them from the bulkhead. Very simple.

i know that with the fuse box, that will just be lifted and wrapped up,its more the abs pump and lines (x4 together) connected to it, that are all bent to shape and run along the bay, it doesnt look "simple" ? as such , as they are all bent to shape and various joins, im wondering does it all need to be taken apart, is so- does fluid all leak ? any particular way to do it etc ?

or can the pump be loostened and it all sort of pulled in to center of the bay, without dissconecting it all, or can that not/shouldnt be done ?

If you want the engine bay done properly then you need the master cylinder removed. To do that you need to undo the brake lines. ANY brake fluid in the area may contaminate the paint, so you might as well undo and remove them all.

Is the rest of the engine bay stripped, or are you just wondering about tickling some paint onto the inner wings?

You won't find any painter worth their salt messing with brake lines. You gona ask for it to be finished with carnauba wax by the painter next

Yer you have to remove them all, I had to do that on the cabby. Not hard, just undo and remove. Worth taking a fe pics so you can see hoe they all go back together right.
