Okay, problem is electric window switches remain lit permanently i.e. ignition off, key out, and the battery's gubbed. ('92 318 cab)

So far:

All 4 windows work smoothly enough.
All 4 switches tested and seem okay.
The lock switch works okay (courtesy Topblag.)
With lock switch on lights go out but obviously the windows don't work.
Both door switches seem okay, interior light goes on and off as it should.
Pulling the fuses (16&17 I think) separately makes the lights go out, but obviously the windows don't work.

Any ideas?

Pulling fuse 28 should kill the windows and switch lights with the ignition off (doors open) - they should still work with the ignition on.

That obviously isn't a permanent cure, but will stop the battery drain until you can sort it (it will also kill the cig lighter and leccy aerial).
From memory, its likely to be a dodgy door pin switch or the earth wire from the pin switch shorting out somewhere.

Have a search for window switch fuse 28 and that should bring up some results as its been covered before.
