can the inner Handbrake cable be pulled through ?

can the" inner" Handbrake cable be pulled through at the shoe end by unbolting at the lever end ?
Looked on wiki can see any info confirming this.

As in, pulled through the solid outer? No, the screw end that bolts to the lever won't get past the solid ferrules in the mounting tubes:
