Hi guys
Some help needed please . I have 17 inch wheels on my cabby with 215 40 17 tyres on and car isn't lowered. I was thinking of lowering it but wanted to ask if I could put slightly bigger tyres on like 225 45 17 without causing any rubbing or other problems.
Any ideas ?

Setting aside whether they'll fit or not, that change in size will bugger up both your gearing and your speedo. You're adding a whopping 5% to the overall diameter with that tyre size, making the wheel harder to turn. Your existing tyre size is pretty much perfect for what the E30 is designed for, even if 17's aren't considered a great ride.
As for whether the extra 10mm on the width will affect things; depends on the ET of your wheels.
