My bonnet release mechanism stopped working. So I opened up my bonnet using a screwdriver throughout the front grill. It managed to open.

But....

Now I can't close my bonnet. It doesn't seem to close now, as in it doesn't latch on. Do you think it's the bonnet catch? Or is the mechanism?

Any suggestions guys. Many thanks in advance

SOunds like the catch on the bonnet release needs a good greasing! It would've been stuck closed when you opened it with a screwdriver and now it's stuck open.

Do you think I should open up the 2 bolts and take the unit apart?
And inspect it.
Or is it damaged?

I had to do this last week, apart from my bonnet kept popping on its own.
I removed the headlight then undone the two bolts holding the catch and then can be removed, once out there is a plastic cover that clips off, once thats off you will see whats what and yes probably just wants loosening off and greasing up.

Thanks for the input guys. It's all sorted now.

And Lee I done what you said. It was the spring. It had popped out! Popped it in place and greased up all the mechanism.

Happy days :)

Thanks
