my temp gauge started to flicker madly then stopped working .
i've just changed the gauge unit and still no reading,i'm trying to bleed the air out of the water system but can't do it now .
when i turn the key the needle moves but to just off the bottom of the reading scale and no further .
any ideas ?? [the brass nut is tight btw]
no temp gauge

the gauge is working when i earth from both the c101 plug and the temp sensor switch.in the wiki it reads that temp sensors rarely fail, well in that case i'm v,unlucky as i have x2 that must of failed
,ok back to the job in hand,i have just removed a 3rd brown temp sensor from a 320i that i know was fully working a week ago so how can i test it without fitting it first.
i presume some hot water is needed but how do i hook the meter up to it ?
cheers Mick.

Is it possible you're cracking the plastic with whatever tool you use on them?magpie wrote: i'm v,unlucky as i have x2 that must of failed,ok back to the job in hand,i have just removed a 3rd brown temp sensor from a 320i that i know was fully working a week ago .
