Hi All

Bit stumped on this one, any advice will be much appreciated.

Leave the car in storage for 2 weeks plus and it starts and runs fine, no issues at all.

However drive it to work or similar leave it sat for the day and go to restart it and it's a different story. Will either be difficult to start or starts very quickly then hunts very badly and dies again (multilple times). Or will not keep running without acclerator pressue. There is also a strong smell of fuel out the exhaust.

But again drive it home once it'll run ok an it's fine again. Just occurs when it's been sat.

Possible leaking injector? They were cleaned and serviced about 2 years ago when I rebuilt the head but they have been extremley noisy ever since. A noise I think I was mistaking for valve train noise so I'm looking in this direction.

Or possibly just a faulty blue temp sender?

I'm stumped because if was a faulty ICV (recently cleaned) or a vac leak (intake boot replaced) I thought it would have the fault all the time anyway.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a leaking injector, or possibly pressure regulator. You need to connect a pressure gauge to the fuel supply pipe, and see what happens when it's parked. If the pressure falls off, then you then need to clamp the fuel return pipe and test again.
Also, try pulling off the small hose between the pressure regulator and the inlet plenum, to see if any fuel comes out of it.

Many thanks Brian I'll bob it over to my mates garage and run some pressure tests.

Will let you know what comes up.

Thanks again.
