my cars going to the body shop, while its there i wanted to delock the drivers door.
To do this is it as simple as removing the barrel from the door, will the door still lock/ unlock from the inside or with the alarm?

I would first make sure ALL the central locking is working correctly, then think about doing it.
But imo, I wouldn't bother.

all my central locking works fine, if for some reason it stops working then I'll still have the lock on the passenger side to open the car and pop the drivers door from inside or i could use the boot lock.

In the COTM picture, your car looks like a nice clean one with some slight paint issues. Your car, do what you like, but if you de-lock it you may find this affecting its resale value when you're moving onto pastures new.
If, however, you're going for a non standard re - spray colour I would ask why you aren't de - locking both sides?

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

thanks, not delocking both sides just incase the central locking does go on me.. most new cars these days have just one lock on the passenger side for the same reason.
